Savannah Music Festival is Hiring Seasonal/Part-Time Teaching Artists for Musical Explorers program (December 2-6, 2024).
Musical Explorers is a free program for K-2 students that resources schools with culturally expansive and cross-curricular teaching tools throughout each semester, including access to professionally produced concerts for young people.
Musical Explorers Teaching Artists will staff biannual concert weeks, engaging participants in music education through performance.
Duties include:
- Greeting and seating students in character
- Modeling audience concert behavior, such as choreography, singing, and listening
Compensation: $375/week
Schedule: Daily call is 4 hours, 9:30am – 1:30pm, December 2-6, 2024.
Teaching Artists will be trained by Musical Explorers Education Manager, Justice von Maur. Justice has 10 years of teaching artist experience and has been trained at the graduate level in Drama Based Pedagogy. In Savannah, Justice has engaged many students through teaching artistry at Savannah Children’s Theatre, Deep Center, and community centers.
